Sycamore Class

SYCAMORE CLASS 2018-2019

Sycamore Class is a class of Year 4 & 5 children, taught by Miss Brown. On a Wednesday however, the children are taught by Mrs Guilfoyle & Mrs Clark, our school sports coaches (from Sportastic).

Once a week, Mrs Bearman takes the class for an afternoon so that Miss Brown can have her PPA (Planning/Preparation/Assessment) time. The class enjoys the variety of people and activities during the week and actively look forward to the varied sessions.

Sportastic work with us on a weekly basis to support our school's delivery of high quality and varied PE sessions. Sycamore Class usually have their session every Wednesday afternoon at 1 pm, but on occasion, this has been known to have to move, so it is always beneficial to leave P.E. kits in school Monday through to Friday to cover any changes to regular sessions.

As part of the P.E. curriculum, the class will have a 40-minute swimming session to look forward to each week in the summer term too.

Children in  KS2, are given the opportunity to stay away from home on visits to places such as the Science Museum in London and on residential activity breaks at Essex Outdoor Activity Centres like the one at Bradwell on Sea. Look out for the information letters, if you would like your child to enjoy an enrichment experience such as this.

Summer terms always bring lots of fun to our school. Each year there is a Country Dance Festival, as well as the Swimming Gala, Sports Day and visits to Ormiston Rivers Academy!

Sycamore Class have an exciting year ahead of them!
