School Lunches

Our meals are provided by Nourish and are prepared and cooked in the school kitchen at St Leonards CofE Primary School and transported here for serving.  Menus are shown on our website and displayed on our notice board outside the school office.

All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a free school meal every day through Universal Free School Meals Funding.  Any pupils in Years 3, 4, 5 & 6 that are entitled to free school meals can also receive a meal (please refer to FAQ section to see if your child/ren are eligible for free school meals).  There is an opportunity for all others to purchase the meals, if they wish, which can be ordered in advance.

All school dinners must be ordered and paid for via the Arbor Parent Portal  Arbor.

Arbor Pay - The Thomas Alleyne Academy

If you require assistance using the Arbor Parent Portal please refer to the following guide:

Arbor – Parent Portal and Parent App Leaflet

Arbor – Parents not receiving Push Notifications Leaflet

Please remember meals must be ordered 1 week in advance of when they are wanted ie a meal required on a Monday must be ordered by the Monday before.  This is the same for all meals, if you pay for your child or are entitled to free school meals.

Please ensure your account has sufficient funds to pay for each meal on the day it is taken.

To clarify:

  • Orders must be placed one week before they are required.
  • We telephone through daily numbers at 9am each day.  Therefore, if your child is absent we need to know before 9am and their meal will be cancelled.
  • Parents/carers will not be charged for a meal if we are informed of the absence before 9am.

Children in Reception and Key Stage 1 receive a piece of fruit or vegetable for mid-morning snack every day.

Water

Please send your child into school each day with a clearly labelled water bottle.  The children are able to refill their water bottles in their classrooms or at lunchtime.  Please fill with water only (not juice or squash) because it is important to maintain hydration during the day and to avoid an over consumption of  additional sugars or additives.
